Burgundy once dominated the continent under the infamous Emperor Napoleon. Now ruled by his nephew, the corpulent and self-styled “Napoleon III,” it looks back fondly upon its glory days under his uncle. Their flag is, of course, purple.

Finmark







Finmark lies to the north, a land of dark forests and blonde women, known for its fine metalwork. Depending on who you ask, their green flag is said to reflect the color of their fir trees, the ice in the mountain glaciers, or perhaps the water in the fjords. Namibia lies along a desolate stretch of cost in southern Afrika. The only anchorage is inhabited primarily by a colony of walruses. A desert waste inhabited by Stone Age natives who haven't even advanced to the point of forming tribes, it's used mostly by whalers or merchant ships in trouble who need an anchorage for repairs. There is little fresh water and no real food available and the place couldn't even be used to establish spice plantations.
















Nippon, an Asian island nation opened up by an American trade expedition under Admiral Perry in 1854, fears becoming a European colony and feverishly embraces technological change. The people are hard-working and possess distinctive wide eyes and violet hair. 25

The Black Forest is a dark pine forest with deposits of coal.







Heidelberg is home to the Imperial University. There are deposits of coal in the hills overlooking the town.







Jarlsberg, the ancestral home of both the Frankenstein and Zeppelin families, is a mountainous dairy region famous for their cheese. Large deposits of iron lie beneath the mountains.







Kingsburg lies in a vast plain in the north. Cold in the winter, the Imperial Estates are situated here.







Upper Slobovia, home of the Slobs.







Maygaria is a proud land yearning for a more independent role in the Empire. Noted horsemen, Maygarians are famous for their enormous mustaches. 







Ostria lies along the eastern border with Moldavia. A land of large estates, the terrain is flat. Most of the peasants on both sides of the border are Poles who despise both the Empire and Moldavia.







Riesling lies along the Wine River, the border with Burgundy, who claims the territory. 







Richthofen lies to the north along the border with Finmark. Large deposits of iron lie beneath both places.







Spee is a port city lying along the windswept coat of the North Sea. 







Transylvania lies beyond the Black Forest. A backward, mountainous region noted for its impoverished peasantry, leather shorts and obsessive superstitions. Garlic is the regional flower.
















Sangria lies to the south of Burgundy. Known for their fiery passions, the people of Sangria disdain outsiders. Their monarch is King Juan Carlos.

Somalia is a poverty-stricken craphole on the coast of East Afrika frequented by pirates, smugglers and other scoundrels.

Togoland is ruled by the High Chieftain, a savage barbarian with a bone through his nose and nine wives. His army is famous for having a “legion” of Amazon sharpshooters.

Zanzibar lies along the east coast of darkest Afrika. The Sultan is a noted slave trader known to trade spices for guns and liquor.
